The Philippines!

Question, have you ever read the original "Little Mermaid" story? by Hans Christian Andersen? I just finished listening to a recoreded cd of his stories. And let me tell you..."Little Mermaid" was SOOOOO sad! I almost started to cry. I have a special soft spot for Fairy Tales. I adore listening to them.
Anyhow, I had the most WONDERFUL time yesterday. It was the first time I went swimming this whole entire year, oh it was glorious.

Of course we were at the mall yesterday. And of course me and my friend Ann Marie played DDR, talked, and hung around with yes, punk , gothic, and normal people that played DDR. Me and Ann Marie got a huge crowd watching us while we played, odd, usually Im scared of that. But I wasn't at all nervous in anyway.
After we left the mall, we had to drop off Ann Marie at a Filipina's house. I didn't know the lady at all, I've seen her and her daughters a couple of times when we shopped at the Filipino store "Manila Garden". But after last night, I got to know her, and her daughters very well.
They had a pool, and it was so very hot outside, and they lent us some bathing suits. Which I might say was VERY SMALL! it was sooo skimpy, I was scared I might just fall out of the bathing suit.
There were so many people in the pool that we did not know, but we got along just fine and played a bunch of water games. It was hilarious most of the time, except when Ann Marie's brother got in trouble for pulling at my shorts.
We all swam in the pool from two in the afternoon, till eight in the evening. Then we got out and ate dinner with everybody.
Everything was so wonderful, it felt just like the Philippines! Unlike the American stiff and formal way, there was just one long table with food, and everybody sat together like family. I loved it, even though I didn't know anybody, I chatted, joked, and played around with the guys and girls at the table. Like I said it was wonderful, after dinner we sat around playing with the tame birds that would sit on your shoulder and talk to you. Ann Marie tried to give my brother ballroom dancing lessons, which ended up with her falling down mid-dip.
At ten-oh-clock, me and and few other of the girls jumped into the pool again. If you have ever swam in the dark, you know how exciting and sensual it can get. We had so much fun playing in the pool... but most of the times we would just float ontop of our backs and stare at the stars. Blocking out the sounds of the highway which was in front of their front yard.

The girls were surpised that I was homeschooled, I asked them why and they said, "Because your soooo stylish!"
three times I was embarrassed that day. That was one, another was when their mother said I was VERY pretty, and kept on about it. (Yes, please never say I'm pretty to my face, it's really embarrassing to me. Because Im not sure if your lying just to be nice to me. Or if you really mean it. *blushes*) The third time was when my mom started singing on the kareoke. Heaven forbid!
