Kitchen Wars: Christina vs. Pressure Cooker
My lastest cooking disaster.
For breakfast I planned to make split pea soup because of the cold, and since Andrew doesnt like any type of veggies, I also planned baked chicken. I didn't mind making extra just for Andrew, (normaly I would mind, I'd be furious!) but baking chicken in the oven ment that the oven had to heat up, and when I open the oven to get the chicken the heat would come into the kitchen and warm everything up.
Brekkist started a little late because I stayed in the bedroom avoiding the cold. I came out and started to prepare. I called my dad asking him for tips about cooking split pea soup. He said I should use the pressure cooker which would be faster, instead of waiting an hour for the pea's to cook.
I egged and breaded the chicken and put it in the oven, next came the peas, everything went like clockwork, I closed the pressure cooker lid with ease. Then, yeah, the soup started to boil over. I called my dad to ask him what went wrong. To much water. So I had to take out some of the water. I couldnt open the lid!! AURGH! I almost had an emotional breakdown! it took me about forty-five minutes to open the lid. (I won the war! mwahaha!)
But I found that the pressure cooker had its revenge on me. The forty-five minutes of labor turned my peas into an unappetizing looking sea of green gloop. *Sobs*
*Sigh*
Thank goodness I KNOW how to bake chicken. The chicken turned out to be really good. And the green goop doesnt taste bad, it tastes just like split pea soup. The only set back is that it doesnt look very good.

i will not say what that soup looks like, but i'll take your word for saying it tasted good, and that's what counts. if i had tried to make that, it would have come out even worse!

I don't really like eating eggs for brekkist. Plus, I was craving split pea soup...and Im eating it right now.
i could never stomach chicken and soup for breakfast. i always have to have cereal or donuts or waffles or eggs and bacon or pancakes or hash browns or anything else breakfasty. do you guys ever eat stuff like that or is it always meat for every meal?
